WorkSafe Mines Safety invites SSEs to attend the 2026 Site Senior Executives (SSE) Forum where regulators and industry experts will share practical insights to strengthen safety performance and fatality prevention in Western Australia’s mining sector.
Building on advances in critical risk management, the SSE Forum will focus on the human factors that shape safety outcomes and explore how organisations can design systems that better support real-world decision making. Through regulator insights and expert presentations, attendees will examine approaches that move beyond blame to strengthen learning, improve investigations, enhance critical controls and lift performance standards. Participants will also gain practical strategies to better integrate human behaviour into safety systems and improve safety outcomes across their operations.
Keynote presenter Sidney Dekker will headline the SSE Forum, bringing internationally recognised expertise on human error, Safety Differently and reducing “safety clutter” that can obscure real risk. Drawing on decades of work in high-risk industries, Professor Dekker will challenge traditional compliance-based thinking and demonstrate how organisations can foster learning, strengthen psychosocial safety and develop more effective human-centred control systems.
